Radio and Temperature Screen - 2006 V8 Vantage
Discussion
Hi
The Radio and Temperature screen on my 2006 V8 Vantage has just stopped working. The radio and everything else works OK, you just cant see the display any more. It was not pix-elated before, it just one day didn't light up. We have tried a a battery reset and this made no difference. My local specialist has now removed the unit from the car and plugged in another one and it works fine, so we are clear it is the unit that is faulty.
So, a remote chance I know, but does anyone have a second hand working unit they don't need, and would like to sell? They are available new but are nearly £800 with the VAT. I have emailed a couple of repairers and no one seems confident they can repair it as they haven't seen one before.
The part numbers are as follows: -
AML P/no 6G33- 18K810- AA
Serial No 004670
Supplier No U9D3A
YZK No 69189-090
Any bright ideas very welcome. I have my dash all over the garage workbench at the moment and would like to get it all back together and working.

I had this problem recently on my 2005 DB9, the screen occassionally went blank, CD & radio still working.
I found out (on this forum) that if the battery is low the car for some reason switches off the screen? I thought it was strange, and still don't know if that's really true??
Anyway, I replaced the battery and since then the screen works all the time.
The battery was on it's way out because the engine cranks over alot quicker now with the new battery. It seems that these cars are quite sensitive electrically.
