Smartphone Mounting Options
Discussion
I've been looking for a better way to mount a cradle for my smartphone, than the rather flimsy and hideous suction cup or vent mount options.
For a lot of cars, there is a little console you can buy with the same leather than the dash, but haven't found one of those yet for any Astons. Also, those consoles were more suited for the phones of 10 years ago, when nobody used them for navigation.
I have used Brodit mounts before in BMWs, that sit higher up and are quite sturdy, but they don't seem to have any AM fitment.
Does anyone have a decent smartphone mount they can snap a few pictures of? I want it to be about level with the dash clocks / vents, so it doesn't block the windscreen nor is it fitted too low.
Thanks

Same here, when the phone is not in it, you barely notice this small vent holder, of course when the phone is in, you see it, but that's what it is used for.
Since the phone is connected over bluetooth, most of time you don need to have it in sight at all (so put it in the middle arm rest somewhere), but for longer trips I put the phone in the small vent holder, and the smartphone autmatically starts in Android Auto mode, that is very convenient and does not require your car to support Android Auto (see https://www.android.com/auto/) .
