I know the Pilot Super Sports are a favoured choice on here, but Michelin only make them in exactly the right size if you want 235 fronts. Later V8's were supplied with 245/40 on the front and 285/35 on the rear.

I'd quite like Pilot Sport 4S's, these replaced the PSS, but also are not made in exactly the right sizes. PS4S's are only available in 245/35, or 235/40 or 35 for the front. The 245/35's have a load index of 93, one below my standard fit Bridgestones at 94. banghead

- So do I come down to a 235/275 setup (Did the rim size change? It's 10mm so the rims could have gone up half an inch) ?
- I could come down from 40 to 35 profile on the front, but the load index is below the standard tyre so may cause my insurer to quibble in the event of a claim?
- Conti Sport Contact 6 are made in the correct sizes. They seem to do well, but the PS4S's win on comfort and I use my Vantage more as a GT, I'm looking to take the harshness away that the Bridgestones suffer from.

As a non-Aston owner I have the PS4S on the front of mine. To be fair they are a superb tyre!

They are made in 255/35R19 but that may not sit too well with you.

The Conti 6s I'd be happy enough to go with TBH.

I have the PS4S 245's on the front of mine. I imported them from the states. They are made. Contact Michelin and find out when there expected in the U.K.

Where in the country are you? If so I can put you in touch with a Midlands tyre fitter for the PS4S potentially for your size. Black Circles and many others don't even list PS4Ss for the front of my car whereas they did.

I'm in the UK. Thanks for all the info! It looks like they are readily available, despite Michelin's efforts to get me to buy Contis. Hopefully an imported tyre will still be E marked (especially from Europe.)

I had a reply from Michelin. I asked when the 245/40's would be available in the UK, and I'm certain I pointed out that they existed in the US. This was the response:

Michelin Customer Service Expert said:
...I have checked in our system if we produce the MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4S in the dimensions you have asked for and unfortunately we do not. Unfortunately we don't have any information about upcoming sizes neither...
So make of that what you will. I think I'm going to import some. Thanks again for the help.

Hi chaps,

Anyone had any further luck getting the Pilot Sport 4S in 245/40/19? Michelin UK still don't list them but the links elsewhere in this thread are now out of date sadly.

I know, it’s such a pain in the a*se isn’t it?! If it’s of any use, I’ve found Michelin Pilot Super Sports in 245/40/19 available in the USA online. Import fees and shipping over here could be expensive though.

I think Camskill have the PS4S 245s in stock for just over £139 each - the 285s are about £217 each smile

I am confused Johnny.
I think our cars are both V8V 4.7 Coupes model year 2009.

My car I am almost certain, is on the original tyres. The sidewall markings are;

Front: 235/40 ZR19 (92Y)
Rear.: 275/40 ZR19 (96Y)

I might scrape an MoT pass, but want to change them all soon. I was hoping to be able to buy Pilot Sport 4S tyres, but it looks awkward.

From MY2012.25 the wheel/tyres were the larger size. Previously only came on "S" spec or Sports pack upgrades.

If you do find Michelins in the larger sizes in stock in UK just check they are the same spec front and rear. People have found them in the past and not noticed the slight tyre model variations. When you check with Michelin they say not to mix the types, all 4 need to be same tyre.
