I had forgotten the number plate of my DB6 that I owned in the mid 1970's.
Looking through some old photos this evening that my wife had unearthed, and I found a couple of photos with the number plate clearly visible.
Pumped it onto Google and there it was.
Advertised as a "barn find",and in a garage/ restorers, not too far from me.
In the photos it didn't look that poorly.
The colour had been changed from Caribbean Pearl to Oyster Grey.
So I'm very excited as I would love to be reunited with her.
Unfortunately the info was about 9 months old and the garage is closed until Monday.
I'm hoping they haven't restored it and sold it on.
Will phone them first thing Monday morning.

Fantastic - they are beautiful cars but I would say that ! If it's for sale would you be tempted ?

Or tell them you know it and remember distinctly the day you totalled it smile

More seriously good luck with it!

Very much so,but I would prefer to buy it as a "barn find" and have the pleasure of having it restored myself to its original colour etc.
I remember getting a phone call from a pal of mine who was friendly with a salesman from HR Owens,a Julien Cutts, saying that they had a couple of Astons I should look at.
In the showroom there was a DB5 in the sought after Mettalic grey and the DB6 MK2 in Caribbean Pearl.
The DB5 was £3000 and the DB6 was £3200.
Now remember that this was mid 1970's and that the car market was very different to what it has become.
I was torn to choose between the two,but thought I'd get the DB6 as it was the newer model,Ho Ho ,if only I'd had a crystal ball.
I kept it for 4 years, during which time a drunken nutter came out of a side turning when I was in Brighton for the day and hit the passenger side of the car.
My girlfriend, now wife, was lucky to be alive.
Her door swung open due to the impact and she fell out into the road, just missing being run over by the rear wheels of my Aston.
Police arrived and geezer was done.
Although we were shaken up I managed to secure the passenger door and we drove back to London.
Insurance company wanted to write it off but I insisted I wanted it repaired.
Kept it for another year after that and then changed it in for a bloody Corvette, of all things.
Quite a few cars followed Jags,Rolls and mundane family cars and workhorses, then more recently a 1991Virage and now my DB9V, but that DB6 has a special place in my heart.
So there you have it chaps...story of my life.

Fantastic, Steven.
You must have so many memories.

Perhaps best not to mention that Paul McCartney was the first owner, until after you have done the deal.

Good luck.

Thanks to you all for your kind comments which are appreciated.
I shall be phoning the garage on Monday and will give you an update then.
In the meanwhile I suggest a crowdfunding exercise as I will certainly need it. 😀

Good luck on Monday, I also have a DB6 in the garage, great car and in some ways better than a DB5 in my opinion as you have more room for wine.

If you're going to get it restored at Works Services don't bother buying the car; they just throw it all away (and I'm not joking). Just ask if you can have he chassis plate for £50 instead smile

Thank you - I am very lucky indeed. I do love have the stewardship of 1930s Lagondas, the 1969 DB6 and the V12VSR; it has been a long journey but for me it is the people that you meet along the way. As way of example, St Athan was fabulous with such a wide range of cars but everyone being so positive and enthusiastic. I do hope you are able to have "your" DB6 back, such memories they are the real weft & weave of life. Fingers-crossed for you.
