OBD Port Location V8V?

Would someone be kind enough to point me in the direction of the OBD port on my Vantage please? apologies if its been asked before but i've done a forun search and did find an old thread on the subject but the photo had been removed.

I understand it is somewhere under the dash on the drivers side but i''ve crawled around and havent found anything, is it maybe under some trim?

I've got the emmissions service warning and want to check the codes and clear it from the screen.

Its basically between the steering wheel and clutch pedal on the underside of the trim.

If you reach under the dash and feel along, you'll find both ports. Ones for OBD and ones for Body (Use the OBD one on the left)

Plug it in there and you'll be able to read codes.

Job done, thanks again, it was actually the plug on the right, I couldn't get my head in to read any labels but connected up to the left first and reader couldn't recognise the car, switched to the right and it connected and found code below, I cleared it and went for a drive, it hasn't come back so fingers crossed it was just a glitch.

Glad you got it sorted.

Just be careful clearing codes, some of them might be important !!

However, I know that mine can occasionally throw up an error code due to race cats and I have to check and delete that one.

If that code keeps coming back every few weeks/months then likely its the O2 sensor, I had 3 out of 4 fail on my previous Vantage

Thanks for the info guys, at the moment I'm putting it down to a change in driving style, I've had the car for 3 months and during that time it's done pretty much the same thing every week, a trundle around town and a 40 mile lap of the island at weekends, but last week I went across to England, filled up with 'Shell V Power' which I hadn't used before, and then it did 140 fairly rapid motorway miles to my old home town, the warning came up the following day.

I'll keep an eye on it and if it keeps repeating I'll get the sensors checked out, I have 3 months warranty remaining which is one of the reasons I used the car for the trip, usually I'd take my Jag XF diesel on a journey like that, but I decided to give the Vantage a workout to see if it coped whilst I still had a warranty in place.

I was also impressed to see an average of 19.5mpg over the 430 mile total journey which consisted of 280 motorway miles and the rest of the miles around a mixture of towns and country roads, and whilst I wasn't ragging it I wasn't exactly hanging around either, except in some motorway congestion on the way home.

I cleared exactly the same code on Sunday (in fact I had two sensors giving the same message. Plugged in a £5 ODBII reader and cleared them.

This is the third time I've had the messages over the last 10 months, and like you, they are triggered in a change in driving style. I think if they come up this infrequently, I'm unlikely to take any further action.

When the O2 sensors finally stop working the error message comes back within hours/next day....then its time to change them. They are about £60 each.

Thanks guys, fingers crossed it either stays away now, or pops up repeatedly before my warranty expires and I get the sensors swapped out at no cost.

Thanks for that info, well 12 days and about 15 re-starts on, and so far all is good, fingers crossed it was just a glitch.
