Vantage coupe.Glove box won't stay shut. 3 fuses checked, light on button lights but on pressing, relay in engine compartment operates but catch solenoid fails to operate. Any ideas before I attempt to access said solinoid , also how does one get at it if required.Looks tricky. Looks like to plastic lugs operate to go through u shaped part on lid and they step back, but mine are back permentally .

Part 2! It's the actuator. How the hell does one remove it.Seems fixed from the side that's impossible to get to,possibly the only option seems to dismantle half the dash as fixings seem to be accessably from the panel that has the passenger air bag off switch in it if that was all removed.Help!

Not had a problem with this yet....

See this from the Workshop Manual I have, maybe this will help you?
I included the 2 photos on the left, although not part of the Glovebox removal section, they do seem relevant.
My Workshop Manual doesn't mention the glovebox anywhere else.

Any use to you?

Being such a tiny compartment, I have rarely opened that door. It did not remain in my memory, that the latch involves electronics to keep the door closed.

Why does it have to so complicated? What is wrong with a conventional physical latch?
Can you imagine every internal door in our homes needing switches and solenoids?

Took it to the dealer eventually. Didn't take them long as they new how, but said it was tricky. They did take the end panel of the dash.
