DB9 cracked front wings

Morning all, new to this section but potentially have an opportunity to buy a db9 that has a few little issues ( price reflects this and I like a project !!)

On both front wings there are hairline cracks that are about 3 inches long that run from the front of the wheel arch towards the front end.

They are totally superficial, I suspect that someone has caught the front end at some point.

Quite happy to have front wend resprayed but is their anything odd about repairing front wings i.e. because they are composite ?

You should be able to have that fixed.

We have seen worse.

I remember reading about that before !!! Mines not that bad !!!

Weird thing is there isms a mark on the nose.

Basically its just been used as a car by and uncareful person all repairs are superficial and the sat nav

My car was recently in the paint shop and when I was dropping the car off they had another V8 Vantage Roadster in for a hair line crack below the headlamp (the owner had nudged something when parking).
They repaired the damage without any bother and I saw the finished result which was perfect.
I think they repaired the crack from the inside using fibre glass.

Used/secondhand wings come up for sale on Ebay quite often. It might be worth trying to find a good non-damaged replacement instead of using up workshop hours to repair yours. It just depends on the maths, I guess.

They can be easily repaired with fibreglass, I would not recommend changing them unless you buy new. I had to change one of my wings due to accident damage, got a good condition second hand one which was inspected before paint. After having it painted and fitted it cracked next to the headlight. This was caused by a stress fracture whilst in transit.

Repairing the composite wings is probably easier than metal wings. Here are my arches being flared. 3 years on, no cracking.

Just be sure to have the car properly inspected to be certain there are no hidden issues underneath while having the wings repaired may not be a major issue you have to consider how well the car has been looked after overall.... best of luck

Thanks for the advice, up until the last owner 3 years ago the car was mint.

However the current owner hasn’t looked after it at all so I know it’s not great but mostly superficial.

But as I said at the beginning the price does reflect this.

This really suits me as I want to use it as a normal car, I have other cars that have become too expensive to use / are too good to use on anything apart from a Sunday run to a nice pub but that doesn’t happen due to dogs etc etc

This will do 30k a year and be used all year round
