A question for the moderators... can I do this??
Discussion
Hi all,
I'm very excited to be collecting my first V8 vantage tomorrow. before I go on I should give a little of my back ground....
I, a little while ago now, worked for AML for around 8 years, as a design engineer and also a vehicle architect at the end. The vantage was the first project I joined and worked mostly on the interior trim at the tailend of the coupe development and the all the volante. Since then I spent many years working in the studio at JLR as a studio engineer on F type and C-X75 etc as well as SVO and land/range rovers. I now run my own company specialising in 3d scanning and reverse engineering. The issue here is that nearly everything I work on is super secret and I have very little to show what I can do - hence the V8 purchase...
Growing up as a kid I revered Aston Martin.
Ever since I have worked for Astons I have always wanted them to be 'more' 'better' 'more special' if you get my meaning I've always seen them as excellent but feel they miss their potential a little.
So, I plan to develop and make a show car to show the various processes and expertise for this type of work with tasteful modifications.
Updated interior trim components, centre stacks, sat nav, door trims, seats and rear environments etc right through to wider arches like the end of the line gt8's 12's AMR' s etc (even tempted with gull wing doors - long live the Bulldog!! lol but that's far bigger project!) First on the list may well be the engine dress kit as the engine bay in these is sooo not special enough, an 'okay' inlet manifold then an engine you cant see due to being covered in pipes and unsightly aluminium chassis everywhere else!
While I understand forums don't allow company advertising I would really value the feedback of the community and feel other owners will be interested to see the process. I have no problem with not mentioning any company details as all the real advertising content is planned for social media, instagram and the like. So I would like to know if and how I can go about sharing this journey on this forum?
Many thanks
Doug

I tend to think the V8 and V12 like the one you're getting are an order more interesting under the bonnet than the new ones. Certainly a fresh perspective would be very interesting to see and I look forward to seeing your ideas in the flesh.Updated interior trim components, centre stacks, sat nav, door trims, seats and rear environments etc right through to wider arches like the end of the line gt8's 12's AMR' s etc (even tempted with gull wing doors - long live the Bulldog!! lol but that's far bigger project!) Start a new thread when you're ready to show the development and keep it updated. I'm sure it will be read with great interest.
Will these be a personal project, a new venture or linked to your existing employer?
Doug
a thread showing the mods on your car will be keenly followed
I guess if people then contact you independently that should be ok
As I understand (and happy to be corrected) Divetheworld owns Divinatech and his products are well respected - maybe talk to him offline

Good luck & welcome

Hi Divetheworld,
The aim here is to produce something special and exciting which I can take to trade shows, instgram, and you tube videos etc nearly all projects I work on are NDA'd so cant show these. Should this lead to a new venture opportunity, well that would be welcome and become apparent, or not, from feedback. The idea of putting on this forum would be to include the community as I would value their thoughts and feedback.

You want to modify your car ,start a thread in Readers cars showing off what you're doing and you can put a link to your website in your profile.
I think.
I'm not a mod BTW.
Just about sums it up, don't plug companies, products or Blogs on the forums, you should be OK, place a web link in your profile and direct members to that. If in doubt just seek prior approval.I think.
I'm not a mod BTW.
