DB9 Headlight dipped beam bulb
Discussion
So after completing my 2nd annual service on the DB9 and replacing the o/s/r lower arm due to it splitting and also the front discs and pads I took it for a spin tonight and it's all together better, even before I get it aligned.
I even almost completely removed the idle speed whine from the oil pick up
On my return trip feeling pleased with the work, my n/s dipped beam failed!
Has anyone replace a dipped beam bulb yet? Hoping it's not the ballast? Any recommendations for upgrades?
Thanks
John

I recently had an error message stating dipped bulb failure, so I went online and bought a couple of philips bulbs.
I swapped over both at the same time to ensure consistent light from both sides.
I ended up purchasing this type: Philips D1S 4300K 35w 85410 xenon headlights bulbs and they seem to work ok.
I was glad it wasn't the ballast.........
I already had the wheels and liners off, so quite an easy change.
I think you can probably do it by turning the wheels and accessing the hatch in the liners.
A box held in by 2 turn screws cover the actual bulbs.
I disconnected the battery whilst I was doing it. Connection is similar to a USB.
Finally, the lights didn't light up first time on using the light switch. Fired up on second attempt. Assume it takes the system a few moments to calibrate and realise new lights have been fitted.
Hope that helps

The access is ok as I recently added gel crystals to stop the condensation (so far perfect) so know I can access fine.
Those bulbs seem OK, let's hope that's all it is
Interesting thnaks, I have a new (but aftermarket) ballast to fit tomorrow.... Will let you know how I get on.
As for the oil, just chnaging the oil to the right specification improved it.
I may be wrong, but I am sure I was told the noise was a capiliiary issue designed into either the front cover or the oil pick up, no not much can be done unless its re manufactured., I am happy to be told I am wrong though
