The valves on my exhaust are open whether or not fuse 22 is out....not normally a problem, but I do have a remote kit to fit. I think the vacuum pump might've packed in - is there any way to check it easily (and where exactly is it?).

It's definitely not the valves themselves, as these are fairly new and move freely. Anything else I should check?

They can be a bit tricky to spot if you don't know what you're looking for, this will help.

You should be able to move them freely and easily.

Thanks but that's a video of the valves - which I've tested and are fine (they're fairly new). It's the pump that I think has packed in.

Does this help at all ?

That's my finger in the video.

On the DB9 the pump, reservoir and solenoid are on the right hand side when looking from the rear of the car. They are tucked up under the rear wheel arch. I know you have a vantage but they may be in the same place

This is taken from the wheel well on the right of the car when looked at from the rear. The vertical one is the pump which is a ford unit and the blimp behind it is the air reservoir and there is also a solenoid valve and the pipe work.

The pump on my early DB9 is Ford Hella F81H2A451B.

I must stress this is a DB9 your Vantage may vary but you should have a similar looking setup. My problem was resolved by replacing the solenoid. I would check for vacuum line leaks etc. the pump when working is obvious from the noise and you can feel it.

Thanks, that’s useful. How did you narrow it down to the solenoid?

By testing everything else first. I then tested the solenoid and it didn't work, got a new one and installed it and it worked.

Don't assume anything with this issue as it could be one of several things.
