Hi

My ski slope cracked this morning from one of the corners of the sat nav aperture

Would this be covered by the full timeless warranty or do I have to look at other options?

Thanks

Dunno on the warranty you would need to call and ask the question. Im doubtful as other minor cosmetic issues were not covered on my car e.g. corrosion on chrome on a side strake.

At last service the dealer pointed out I had a small crack in ski slope too. Quoted £1300 to supply and fit new, or £450 ish for a refurbished part.

I left it for now and had a look myself, its a few mm crack in top right corner, barely noticeable unless you get close up and know what to look for. I can live with it until such a time as I find a used part on ebay perhaps and fit myself.

Got mine replaced for free, as it was cracked when I bought the car from Aston Cambridge.

I also got mine changed under timeless warranty FOC
Dealer at first said it wasn’t covered , I wrote to AM direct and they agreed it should have been and so authorised payment .

This is a problem I have got on my 2014 Vantage, had a 2009 Vantage before this and that was fine, is this just a bad batch or a ongoing problem.
Mine is being sorted by the dealer.

Mines a 2012 I know they changed from a plastic fixing frame to alloy so whether this is related I don't know

Mine cracked at exactly the same place on my V12V. Works said it's not a warranty item as it's classed as trim, however the factory replaced under a goodwill claim FOC without any fuss.

If its not covered under the warranty, I have a spare if its the same type (early manual with metallic frame). Let me know if interested and I can provide some pictures.

Yep! Mine did the same - its a clear design issue. I got an used part in excellent condition and fitted it with some glass buttons too as I was at it smile You could consider wrapping it - many like that faux carbon fibre look for example compared to the grand piano look smile

The design fault is having sharp corners that concentrate the stress, they should have been rounded.

Look what happened to the De Havilland Comet when they fitted it with square windows.

Thanks for the feedback guys

Your spot on there Pat with the design issue

Well I spoke to both my local dealer and customer services both of whom said not covered even though I had only had the car a matter of weeks

Waiting for the dealer I purchased from to get back to me

Thanks for the offer of a used part, please could you confirm model year as I am aware that part numbers changed with introduction of the ecu starter

PS mine is a manual

Hi all,
Cracked satnav cover 2007 V8V. After waiting for some time for a plastic back replacement. I refused to buy a new whole ski slope because of the unjustified price. Today my local body repair workshop repaired and sprayed the cover. Gloss black. Perfect match for the piano black ski slope. Cost. Zero.

When you say 'repaired' did they fill, sand and spray? Any extra reinforcing applied to stop it happening again? I also have a cracked piano black ski slope!
