Hi All,
Ive had the drivers seat out of my 06 V8 Vantage and now the Airbag light is on when its been put back in.

All the connections are good - is this an easy thing to have canceled with an OBD reader or do you need the special AM software to cancel?
Im in an LU6 postcode (Dunstable beds)

Can any one help (happy ypo cover expences etc) or is it a trip to Astom martin?

Many thanks for any replies / help

Dave

You can do it with any scan tool able to clear airbag warnings from Jaguars and Volvos, just tell the tool that's the kind of vehicle you're plugged into.

Make sure the passenger seat isn't pushed back too far, or hitting the rear of the cabin. That will throw the airbag light as well.

When my seat was removed on the DB9 the air bag warning lights came on.

Some scan tools will not clear it due to it being a safety feature.

Aston Martin dealership had to clear mine with Aston Martin software

Did you turn the ignition on when the seat was disconnected? if so you'll get an airbag light and as others have said normally needs a dealer reset

I've cleared airbag warning lights with an off-the-shelf Autel scan tool. V8 Vantages and a DB9, for both faulty seat sensors and for disconnecting the seat airbag entirely. Not sure if anything was changed at some point, but there's nothing special about clearing airbag warnings in the cars I've worked on.

Yes, but you've got to be connected to the body port, not the OBD port. Run of the mill scanners can't communicate with the body port because of the proprietary protocol. Autel works since it can talk to Volvo which uses the same protocol.

The Autel I have is pretty run of the mill. Price range in the US is $160-220 depending on vendor, not sure if it's more or less in the UK or Europe. One use and it pays for itself lol.
