I unfortunately hit a dog a couple of weeks ago when driving out of Edinburgh late at night. It was passing through a "not too nice" area.
Stopped and found dog's owner round the corner with his 3 mates - can't say for sure....but I would have suspected they had been "playing with medicine".
Anyhow, with dog and owner back together - I must admit I bid a hasty retreat - probably no point in pursuing as I doubt they had any pet insurance or anything else I could claim on.

First ever insurance claim in over 25 years - Admiral were superb and didn't question anything - and I do have protected no-claims - so only real hit is about £600 on excess....

Been to Mitchell Inglis in Glasgow to get them to look over and start ordering parts - looks like a new front driver's wing and probably lower bumper/air splitter? They said these things are made to order by AM - and there can be a long lead time?

Anyone had recent experience? How long might I be waiting?

If your car was built in the before 2000 then yes made to order and fitted too but a 2016 should be on the shelf, paint and fit but pre fitting wouldn't hurt.

Cool - I'm not doing it myself - good body shop in Glasgow doing it - was just wondering if I'd need to wait for weeks for AM to make one....Thanks

The parts you need are not made to order. They should be ready to ship as soon as you order them.

I used them recently and their workmanship is shocking. Failed within months and refuse to fix their mistake, breaking promises and coming up with lame excuses which contradict other expert opinions which I've sought.

My loss provider have started a dispute and I've got an independent engineer coming out to inspect it. I've also contacted Jaguar who 'approve' their work because it's supposed to come with a three year guarantee and in the event of a dispute Jaguar are supposed to appoint an independent assessor to inspect the work but this was quietly ignored by Mitchell Inglis.

I've also stated categorically that I do not want my car to ever go back there so. I'll use a rattle can and fix it myself before I ever go back there.

I think they rely on a lot of insurance work as I can't imagine it's based on quality of workmanship, and when checking my dash cam footage it looked like chaos inside; cars squeezed in all over the place. When you actually start reading through all their reviews (not just Google but look at all the other sites) you start to build a picture of what they are like. They could't find my keys either, it was all very amateur.

Personally, I'd find a local reputable body shop who will take pride in their work and look after your car rather than a rushed conveyor belt of a place.
