Hi there,

I am turning to this forum with a plea for help!

I simply want to update the maps in a DB9, first registered Sept. 2006, to 2018-spec.

I have asked Aston Martin Parts (main dealership), who tell me the "latest part number" is 4G43-10E898-AJ but that the maps were "last updated in 2005". (I find this impossible to believe). I also note that the "J at the end of the part number is a higher letter than some second hand discs on eBay (e.g. the same part number, but ending in "E"), suggesting to me that there were incremental changes.

So, as I understand that the navigation hardware is Volvo, I have asked Volvo Parts (again, main dealership). They refer me to Aston Martin!

Needless to say, it is enormously frustrating that neither Aston Martin themselves, nor Volvo, can answer a simple question!

I want to buy a "genuine" disc if at all possible (whether from AM or Volvo) - not least to ensure the AM warranty is protected - and SURELY all I need to know is the part number for either Aston Martin or Volvo 2018 maps!

Has anybody else been where I am now, and had more joy with this conundrum?!

Many thanks to anyone who can help!

Why are you insisting on an OEM disc, I updated my 2010 V12V with one bought from ebay and no problem, allows now 6 digit postcodes and works fine

4G43-10E898-AJ is indeed the latest and last version and was introduced 2008. Only 10 years out of date!

Hi everybody

Many thanks for all the replies, it is much appreciated.

The Garmin retro-fit is intriguing and looks great value. Might be worth a closer look when the AM warranty expires...

So I gather I can buy Volvo discs, do I understand correctly that the latest maps are 2015?

Does anybody have the Volvo part number so I can consider keeping the discs original? (I do note the copies are probably perfectly fine but I suppose it would be ‘nice’ to have the originals)!

Thank you again. Dealers are hopeless by comparison!

This one should work. I've done both my 05 DB9 and a friends 06 DB9 volante. Its a straightforward process and I think there are threads elsewhere describing the process

I used a Volvo RTI disc to upgrade my 05 DB9 maps. Lots of European sellers because they don’t need / use to this region disc. Costs about £20-25.

Anybody got the same info for the sat nav on 2008 DB9 volante? Just going through Cambridge and half of the city (obviously built over the last 10 years) does not exist on my existing sat nav.

^^^^ They are all the same. Ebay is the place.
Volvo 2016 disc was the last I bought for a 2009 V8 Vantage. Works just fine.

As written in (more) recent Navi threads: use the latest Volvo Discs (2017/18, no newer ones will be made) and you are up 2 date.
