Help! What's this noise?
Discussion
I recently picked up a 2010 V8V 4.7 Sportshift and not had a chance to drive it yet (other than picking it up from the dealer). It's been in my garage for the last 2 weeks (on a battery conditioner). This morning I put the ECU in and before starting I heard this loud buzzing sound that is coming from the rear RHS (wheels/exhaust?). It doesn't stop unless the ECU is removed.
Here is a video:

Can anyone tell me what this noise is before I contact the dealer? It is covered by Timeless Warranty and is going back on the 10th December for a couple of minor problems to be sorted (mirrors and exhaust valve stuck open).
Many thanks.

totally guessing but sounds like sportshift pump trying to prime?
Thanks for the reply.I've spoken to the dealer and he says it sounds like the exhaust valve vacuum trying to close the valve. I'll just leave it for them to sort when they pick it up, hopefully earlier than the 10th.
Cheers.

Try removing Fuse 22 (or 15?) to isolate the vacuum pump.
My guess is that it sounds like the pump is running but not reaching the cut-off vacuum pressure setting, maybe due to a hose being disconnected.
Puling the fuse doesn't hurt anything.
Done - no more buzzing, many thanks. Will be sorted by dealer shortly. My guess is that it sounds like the pump is running but not reaching the cut-off vacuum pressure setting, maybe due to a hose being disconnected.

I just started having this same sound. What was the final diagnosis?
Exhaust valves. They are vacuum operated. By removing fuse 22 located in Vantage boot (think later cars fuse 15), it simply stops current going to the vacuum pump, hence aids diagnosis. Valves remain open, if the fuse is removed.
