Vantage Glass Key
Discussion
Need to replace battery in glass key, but wanted to check if anything to look out for before doing so. I see a couple of small screws, then assume it slides apart. Anyone know what battery type it is so I have one before I take it apart? Also is there any steps required to pair it with the car after replacement?
Hi Peter,
As you said, you first need to undo the two tiny screws. Each screw has a tiny rubber washer, so make sure not to lose them when removing them. Once removed, you just slide the chrome part out, pulling in opposite directions.
Then you slide the transponder, but be careful with the buttons. They are not attached to anything, they just rest on the transponder when everything is in place, so it's better to do this with the button side facing down.
Finally, you just unscrew a few really small bolts (be careful with those, easy to break!) that hold the battery case.
Obviously, you follow these steps in reverse for reassembly.
Hope that helps,
Damien
