Vantage V8 Shift Linkage

While accelerating through a couple of new brake pad break-in runs, I lost gears 2, 4, and 6 after a fast shift. Still have R, 1, 4, and 5. I assume I've had a shift linkage failure of some kind, but haven't yet found a YouTube (or other) reference for detailed info and "fix it" guidance on the system. Does anyone have a reference that might help (USA owner)?

Davek: Thanks for checking in, your info was right on the money. I had already pulled my center console covers and could see that the front ends of the gearshift push-pull cables were correctly connected. I was able to drive it to my local shop. They're small town guys but they work on everything (they actually are doing major body work on a museum owned Ferrari 250 Long Nose right now!).

Anyway, just what you said. The linkage is loose on one side with a couple of "clips" missing. The mech said a piece of plastic tie-wrap was also involved!

Ordering new cables now; figure I might as well replace both (2007V8V/second owner/regular driver). I'll check back in with the rest of the story.

Ordered both the long and short shift cables from https://www.scuderiacarparts.com; they arrive tomorrow $509.47 delivered including PayPal.

Local shop will install. I'll try to get a couple of shots of that.
