Vantage Wiper Arm Corrosion

I am aware that this is a common problem, what do most do, replace with a new one or have it resprayed?. This is the larger one, attached to the drivers side and rests on the passenger side.

I am near Southend, Essex, if the census is that most get them refurbished...any recommendations?.

Interested in this myself - noticed mine yesterday. I know it's been like it for ages, but I'd forgotten all about it until it just seemed obvious.

I assumed it wouldn't be hard to remove them, rub them down and paint them?

Easy. Rub down, primer and satin black spray.

Wiper arm plate and wing mirror arm also. I had mine resprayed when went for service £150 + vat.

When I did my wing mirrors, I just used a Hammerite satin black.

Similar to the existing colour, just a little smoother (obviously depending on how much you sand them down)

I used Halfrauds satin black three years ago - still good. It's all in the preparation

I considered going down the diy route but a local powder coating firm did the pair for me for £20. Saved me a lot of effort.

Do they still pivot OK (lifting the blade away from the screen) when powder coated. Nothing flakes off?

Yes, all seems fine, although I was not minded to lift them many times! I guess time will tell how good the coating lasts. At £20 it was a bit of a no brainer though.

I used Hammerite satin black spray for my wing mirror stalks, a perfect match to the original and am planning to do the same for the wiper arms on my car

I decided to replace my old style wiper arms which were very tatty and corroding with the newer style AM ones, not a cheap modification but does look much better.
I have fitted them with Michelin Stealth wiper blades (£15 a pair from Costco instead of the AM ones at £69 for the pair)

anyone have any tips on removing the arms to respray? Looks like a simple screw out job, but wanted to make sure!
