Hi folks,

Currently in Switzerland. Drove down through France with some ‘spirited driving’ that may have exceeded the speed limit accidentally officer. This evening spotted a significant vertical crack in my windscreen starting from the top with no evidence of any stone/debris impact. This looks like a stress related crack to me. Another car with me, 720s, also has a stress crack (horizontal) which apparently is a known issue with them at high speed (2nd time for this owner, unbelievable on a £250k car but hey its a mac).

Anyone here ever had such an issue with an Aston?

Can’t offer any advice on the wind shield but I can recommend not speeding in Switzerland as it gets very expensive. Strange that both cars have same issue at same time.

Slight thread hijack but anyone happily used the likes of Autoglass or National Windscreens to replace theirs?

No, I have seen how they gouge the screen out and damage the paint around the seal. Then the unseen area starts to corrode. If you get the choice, use a more specialised service and request an OEM or Pilkington screen.

I use Old School Windscreens in Lyne, near Chertsey, Surrey. They treat every car like its their own and all the local up-market dealers, (Maranello, etc) use them.
