Hello all.
So I have had this car for about 3 weeks now, and last week, I disconnected the battery because the dash clock was not showing correct time. After i did that about 30 miles of driving later, my check engine light came on. I scanned it and its showing me code P0315, which has to do with Crankshaft sensor malfunction or it needs to be relearned. I can clear the light with my scan tool while the car is running, and the light stays off as long as I don't turn the car off. As soon as I turn the car off, it comes back. The car only has 7k miles, so I am curious if the crank sensor can malfunction so soon.

The car runs perfect, with the light on or off, and there are no misfires. My question to you guys is that is there a calibration process which need to do or do I need to start at the crank censor and its wiring?

Have you put the car on a trickle charge?
A fully charged battery sorts loads of problems out.

I haven not done the trickle charge because it seems like it's fully charged. But I suppose I can do that. I spoke to a Indi Shop owner and he said it might be the crank position sensor. The car runs great, no misfires, so I am a bit puzzled.

I wonder if this is related to the adaptive misfire correction factors. This is part of the engine management for the V12 engine and a re-learning procedure needs to be completed if you remove the battery in a DB9, however I am not sure if the same is true of the V12V.

It is detailed here: https://aston1936.com/2016/03/18/relearning-the-mi...

It might just need to relearn everything. Take it on a 30min drive and hopefully the code should clear.

That is interesting, but i don't think this is my issue. I have a MIL (check engine) light on, and that article does not say anything about that. It's frustrating.

It’s important to turn off all electrics and to do the coast down without significant steering input.

Best of luck and let us know if it worked!

Phil, have you replaced the battery?
