The Rapide is long overdue a front end blow over - the front end is horribly peppered with many stone chips on the bonnet from glorious use.

I reckon I can use the garage that is Aston approved in Cardiff (Stratstone used to use them before their demise) as I have given them business in the past (a pot of touch up paint - gratis wink) and they are approved for Bentley etc and are trusted with loads of nice motors.

I suspect they will want to do wings, bonnet and front end - what should i budgeting for this?

I think I should get it PPF wrapped too as the first ding after that outlay is going to be painful. Again a budget for that?

Cheers

I've always gone with £300/panel for paint that may well be a little more these days though

Hi Dewi,

I used a company near me who resprays (resprayed) the DAE race cars. Precision Paint. I had bonnet, wings, bumper and it was around £1200. Fantastic job

Phil - that sounds decent mate; could afford the PPF then too and chase your tail with impunity smile

I've just had my meteorite silver bumper, bonnet, both wings, driver door re-sprayed by oceans bmw Plymouth 2.200 if that helps I'm pleased with the job, just not the time they took to do it. Which made it feel like it was done when they had time. It was still cheaper than Bristol main dealers without the two hour added journey.

£1200 the going rate from others as well. Nick had a very nice job done on his old DBS for that kind of money.

Do you know where Nick actually had it done John? There's a chap near his neck of the woods that does PPF at a decent rate too so it might all marry up if I can get it on that quick after the respray.

Had a quote from the Aston (and Bentley) approved shop in Cardiff and it is quite in line with the £300 per panel guideline (ex VAT) mentioned here and I know they do a great job and treat you professionally.

They spotted corrosion (yes on b aluminium!) on the rear door started from a stonechip but will prob just have a smart repair on that to bide the time before a respray from the a pillars back as a stage 2 one day.

Stratstone used to use the paint shop behind the Mazda garage. He was a V12 Vantage owner.

There is a place in Chepstow that does the PPF, might be worth checking them out.

Sean still has his black Vantage mate.

Are you thinking of http://www.ti22.co.uk/ for the PPF?

Cheers
