Aston Works (Beamish) - pricey private tours!
Discussion
Popped in to Aston Workshop near Beamish. Met up with Francine (daughter of the chap who owns the place i think). Awesome setup! I think i very nearly had to sit down due to palpatations looking at the cars they have for sale and the customer cars they have in for service etc.
The wife and I had a tour of the workshop and sales floor. And a coffee.
Cost us nearly 30 THOUSAND POUNDS! WTF!!!
I'm all for private entities setting their own prices, and if folks like me and my wife are silly enough to pay them....
....but 30 grand does seem a tad steep (it's an awesome setup that they have though!). And the coffee was probably worth a few grand on its own (very tasty - best i have ever had).
On the plus side, Francine threw in a V8 Vantage for free, so, I guess we can't grumble. Pics to follow once we pick it up in a few weeks after it's been fully prepped.
Erm.... anyone want to buy a 996 Turbo?

I think it was supposed to be going to auction tomorrow..... so, erm, sorry if i have upset anyone by poaching it before then
Awesome cars there today. Saw the Senna and 918 arrive (parked behind the P1 GTR race car and GT8!!!).
Take some tissues with you tomorrow. I suspect you will need to clean the front of your pants. A lot! (Check out the DB6 SuperLeggera (sp?)) JUST. WOW.

Needed the warranty with it (my first Aston).
The car is also cosmetically and mechanically imperfect, almost all of which Aston Works have agreed to sort out. And they are servicing it too.
I was tempted to take the risk and try to grab it for 25k or so today. But with buyer fees it wouldn't have been far off what I've paid for it, and I would then have the hassle of getting things fixed and serviced at my cost. And no warranty.
If anyone is going today to the auction they have some serious metal there going under the hammer. Lovely TR6 amongst the Aston and Porsche stock as well!
