EML light(emissions) and fuel choice
Discussion
Had the V8V 4 months. During that time I've had the emission service light come on on a lot..I could erase it but it would soon reappear and never went out by itself even after many starts. Car drove fine though.
I was thinking I'll get some new lambda sensors.
Anyway I thought I would put some Tesco momentum 99 in a couple of weeks back. Previously always been V power.
A couple of drives and the light went out. Today I've put in some more and made a few journeys in my normal manner and the light hasn't reappeared...longest time in my ownership.
There is time yet of course and I'll post if it comes on but we'll see.
As an aside I don't think a cold start has as much flourish as before. The raucous tick over is present but the initial burst seems softer.
As a bonus the momentum is cheaper!

On some error conditions the MIL will clear itself after a few stop/start cycles if it does not re detect the same value again, it could just be coincidence on the fuel
Get an OBDII meter. The errors are stored until you clear them and you can note them down. If you get the same error re-occurring then its time to investigate further.
I had 3 out of 4 of the O2 sensors fail on my 2006 Vantage over 83k miles. Each time the MIL started out intermittent, would go out for a month or two then come back on. Sometimes it went off on its own, other times I needed to clear it, before eventually solving the issue it by replacing the sensor.
