Sun's out, dash is melting
Discussion
I bought a good one for my Evora from Covercraft UK. They don't have them on the UL website so you have to call them. They do have them on the US website if you want to see what they are like.
They are well made, much more robust than the usual cheapy silver things. Mine has an alcantara like liner on the inside that pretty much matches the alcantara in the car and you can choose the outward facing colour. But - its expensive £112 including cover

As a top tip - I spend a lot of time in the winter plastering my dash with coats of Gliptone leather cream. This builds up enough of a base resistance so when it gets really hot - the dash doesn't dry out so easily. You'll need to keep topping it up over the summer - but let's face it, some man time with the car is hardly a chore.

Problem is, that's unlikely to stop the glue melting - which is what happened to mine last year.davek_964 said:

Indeed, it does help with dash shrinkage (a problem on my Evora) but there are a couple of spots where the leather now looks to be lifting slightly as the glue has melted.I am going to try the Halfords option for the sake of £10 and if it's not great I'll order one for the US and bring it back next time I am there for work.

Right, if the car lives outside, I can see the usefulness of it. Hopefully, with just a few days parked outside each summer, I will be fine.
Car is currently hidden in the garage but it's a pain to get it in/out so not something I want to be doing often when I want to use it frequently. Drive is south facing and dash (and car) are black so really a sun trap.Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
