2008 AM Vantage AMS1 missound 1st gear/revers
Discussion
Hi,
I've just bought my first AM and after driving it for 2-3.000km with no issues, I now have a mechanical missound when rolling off I first gear or in revers. I would call it some kind of "grinding" sound. My first thought was release bearing (thrust bearing), but can it be the flywheel? Or is it something completely different like resonance from transaxel?
Anyone experienced the same sound?
best regards,
Christian from Oslo

Sounds a little like I get.
Mine isn't consistent - when it does it, it seems to be a specific pedal position - and actually, I think it probably does do it more in reverse than 1st. But some days it seems to do it several times, and other days (most) I can't make it do it at all.
Mine has been doing it since I bought the car 4 years ago. I suspect a new clutch will cure it, but I've never managed to make mine do it in front of a mechanic, and I'd like their confirmation before I pay for a new clutch. I'd hate to find the noise remained!
