We’ve seen that the new Vantage has had a mixed reception. Some say it’s due to the design, some say it’s the pricing. Personally I love it. Probably my next purchase if they sort the MX 5 headlights out

I’m not clever enough to know the real reason. AM say sales are good, I’m not in a position to comment.

The naive question from me is, why didn’t they put the Bond design DB10 into production? Who wouldn’t love to drive that? Look at all the OHMSS and Goldfinger DB5 mania.

Can't answer your question but I've seen more 21st Century cars on the roads locally in the last 6 months than original Gaydon era cars in the last 5 years. FACT.

So sales must be good.

I have seen one AMG engined Vantage in London in the last six months.

Anecdote isn't evidence!

Evening matey.

30 miles but all cars on private/non KX plates.

Unlike every single Velar on JLR plates

Far too cheap for a Penis Extension in London.

People in London only buy sports cars to pose, correct?

Of course, in London everyone merely buys an Aston Martin to give one's valet a runabout...

Back in the real world, I do worry about sales of the AMG-Vantage. Seen more DB11s and more Rapides...

Must admit I’ve only seen a few a handful of new vantages on the roads, quite rare still....

The cars you have seen are presumably within the UK.

If anyone wants to, it is easy to see how many new UK registrations there have been on the DVLA website.
There are quarterly figures for every make and model, but I think still only available up to 31 March 2019. They always seem to be slow with their publishing.

I suppose there must have been some sort of agreement about the limited numbers for the DB10. Remember one was auctioned with proceeds to charity.
I expect you know that the DB10 was really a 4·7 Vantage manual, with altered body panels. Not road legal, so you won't find any road tax records for James Bond's car, registration DB10 AGB.

I have never heard any comments, but was AGB supposed to stand for AGent Bond?

This is what surprises me over the reaction to the new Vantage. It’s the same design as the Db10 except for the grill. Everyone loves the db10 but not so the new Vantage, at least on this forum anyway.

In the real world I’ve found only really positive reaction from the public to the new Vantage. It gets more positive comments than the old Vantage.

Yes I’d prefer the db10 grill but I also think that the car looks better in the flesh than in pics.

Aren't all Gaydon cars 21st century? I think you mean to say 2nd century cars to distinguish the latest gen.

Iirc the DB10 got a poor reception on PH too when photos came out.

Right, off to pose outside Harrods...biggrin

On Monday I saw a new Vantage at Grantham Train station.

I live in the East Midlands and have seen a few 2nd century Vantages this year.

Can you not just put the 'clean' front end of the DB10 on the new Vantage with some slight modified headlights ?

I personally liked the DB10, but I also believe the new Vantage styling is growing on me.
