MY2017.5 DB11 Launch Edition - Unreal GFV..
Discussion
Hi Aston forum i am a first time Aston owner with MY2017.5 DB11 Launch Edition. After 4 years with 2 different Bentley Conti GT Speeds i was after more more sporty, sexy, naughty and modern GT car. I have shortlisted 991.2 Turbo S, Vanquish (although not modern tech i think best looking one) and V12 DB11.
After test drives i ruled out the 911 and left in between the Vanquish and V12 DB11. DB11was the obviously choice for what i wanted but i just could not pass over the Vanquish looks and the sound.
So 17.5MY Launch Edition car registered in July 2017 just under 7k miles with 1 private owner from new who is loyal to the brand and to the dealership. Being launch edition it had all the options i would ever wanted and also in my favourite exterior spec Grey with black pack. It has light interior which wouldnt be my first choice but it had the upgraded leather so it felt really step up from the standard black leather car parked aside. Checking the trip computer from last reset it had 4k miles with avg 22.6mpg which meant car hasn't been trashed around. So it ticked every box.
At this point i was prepared to pay in full but then salesman mentioned the finance figures...Car on sale at £101.5k and after 24moths 6k miles per annum it had GFV of £93.5k !!!! So this meant £8k deposit and at %5.9APR around £450 a month. I also got 1 year warranty extension on top of the manufacturer warranty which means all covered until July 2021. Services also covered. I signed up straight away but until i got the car i was scared something will go wrong.
A car to be retailed at £101.5k by main dealer i would say they paid max £95k for it today? I just cant see how this car will worth £93.5k at trade after 2 years and 12k additional miles. That %4 depreciation every year just looks unrealistic on this sort of car. But thats finance company problem now. All in inc deposit, interest, warranty and servicing i am extremely happy to drive £100k car for £18k over 2 years.
I am sure this would cost me at least £30k over 2 years if i am to buy it cash.

Absolutely cracking deal! I know two people who have managed similar GFV's on Vanquish' too. I think you will be MUCH better off financially than if you bought the car. Also bear in mind that if you bought outright, and fancied selling in 2 years, a dealer would want circa £10k margin in the car... Might go look at some DB11's ... now

"Launch Edition" does the trick apparently. You don't get this high GFV on non-launch edition cars. Aston Martin finance is actually using Alphera finance and its generic interface doesn't take Launch Edition into consideration. My salesman spoken to the finance company and he specifically mentioned its Launch ED and we got the GFV. He knew what he was doing
Its an amazing car. I am very surprised how comfortable and forgiving it is in GT mode, I wasn't expecting this much. It completely transforms to different animal in Sport+ mode. Bang&Olufsen audio is one of the best I have ever experienced and raising tweeter on the dashboard adds more drama. 360 camera is very useful too especially view of front and rear wheels makes kerb side parking a doodle. So far very very happy

I was told that the engine shuts down some of the cylinders in GT mode if you are cruising to improve mpg too. I was very impressed with the db11 I test drove last week.
Can any highlight the difference between Launch Edition and CEO edition?
Wasn't the ceo edition just the launch edition with effectively a couple of signatures dotted around? Can any highlight the difference between Launch Edition and CEO edition?
Our launch edition has everything you'd ever want from a car and is a great gt car.
