All,
Came across this... Spoke to the dealer and agreed on £44k.
Mileage is a little high, but will come with yes warranty, full detailing and G Technique ceramic coating in that price.
Could do with any guidance as my first Aston.

Is this the sort of car I could sell next yr for 40k privately potentially?
Cars never seem to stay long for me so always need to keep an eye on resale!
£44k seems a fantastic deal to me, makes me a bit worried what mine is worth!Cars never seem to stay long for me so always need to keep an eye on resale!
However, if you think you can keep it a year and sell it privately for £40k, im not so sure. The main dealer offers a years warranty and a level of comfort and ease of transaction, that has to be worth more than £4k even ignoring the years use and increased age of the car.
These have to bottom out at some point though, they drive so much better than the early cars, and the spread is getting really tight. Or alternatively 2006 cars will be £20k.
4k off the sticker price have they had it a while??
I was eyeballing the v10 r8 they have.
Leven specialist cars isn’t far from me, I was over early summer and they had some nice cars. Appears they still have a lot of them. They hold franchises for rolls Royce, Aston, lotus, caterham etc

Nope ... Hasn't even been prepped yet.
Went to my local Aston dealer in seven oaks and had a good chat with them. The guy said it was well priced at 47k and that it's a car they would Def consider as something rare as they are struggling to get anything down in London to restock under 50k.
Said most of their part ex's are going to auction.
He told me to put a deposit down, get a cheap flight and go check it out - sensible advice I figured.

Yeah they are about 15min from Edinburgh airport. I wouldn’t be concerned though as all the cars they had were top notch.
I felt uneasy going in with the amount of Rolls Royce parked in the showroom. Looked like a bit out my depth but the 2 salesmen I spoke to were brand new.
The car I went to see had been sold (I just turned up in the way from looking at another car) but they took some details and let me sit in the caterhams and zenos they had and spent a bit of time chatting about cars.
Left with a good impression!!
I would have offered to go and look at the Aston for you but I’m not home now until 28th.

Very kind of you to offer!
They came across as pretty nice people over the phone and in negotiations. Originally spoke to them re the £32k vantage they have, but finance deal wasn't great as no PCP, but for £12k more I'm getting a 7 yr old newer car with a better spec - so I feel it's a decent deal.
Good to hear you had a positive experience though. Just need to sort out time off work and a flight up there now!

They seemed really good. The showrooms littered with 200k RR plus loads of different exotic cars I was like a kid in a sweet shop and made to feel very welcome.
It would be worth the trip for a day in the showroom alone.
I’m flying to East Midlands airport at the end of the month to view a car, only got a 1 way ticket so here’s hoping it’s the one. Just get it done you’ll only regret it if you miss out on the car. Great time to buy at end of summer and with all this brexs
t and recession worries.

As a manual Vantage S owner I'm always going to advise that but this is a lot of car for under £50K and presumably closer to you than most: https://preowned.astonmartin.com/preowned-cars/109...
This is my comment in the "DB9 or Vantage" thread and I thought it was a good car for £48K so at £44K I would not hesitate.A few thoughts:
The front discs are expensive to replace (I've just done mine at 34K miles) but this car has just had them done and they have used the better of the two options. Tells me the car has been well looked after and and the service history backs this up.
Regular use and mileage is a good thing in my opinion as long as the interior has been looked after too but it looks good in the pictures. Storm Black is a nice colour but will show stone chips easily. It appears to have PPF on the very front which is OK but have a look at the condition of the rest of the bonnet/wings, the sills and rear arches.
It's got the best wheels (forged lightweight) but I think they look a little plain in silver. Mine are black diamond cut but it's all matter of taste and only a refurb away. When you change tyres don't put Bridgestones back on. The Michelins are much better in every way.
Get them to throw in some glass buttons and it's a deal

S version with a clutch pedal is quite a rare thing and a bonus for those of us that like a stick shift. Great price for an S so get it bought.
You'd be very lucky to sell on for £40k imo unless market takes an upturn post Brexit. Very difficult to sell privately at this price point as buyers want comfort of warranty plus px and finance options. Also, black is most common and less popular now.
