I recently purchased a 2002 DB 7 V12 in Florida having had two previous owners, the last one for 13 years where it has lived cossetted in an air conditioned garage. It has 64 car fax data reports and a completely clean bill of health with just 21K on the clock. I shipped it to the Turks & Caicos Islands just to have a fun car to go out in albeit a tiny island. I figured that the car is probably worth more from the sum of its parts than the car itself.

I need to obtain a second key fob plip, the car came with four ignition keys but only one plip. Where do I find a replacement and what is the procedure for signing onto the car? I also need two replacement boot/trunk gas struts. I may be able to source these from a US manufacturer that I have used for marine applications, in SS. Is there any chance of laying your hands on a service manual. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated

Congrats. Stunning looking car - and beautiful colour. I have a V12V in Almond Green.

I'd suggest eBay. Its genuinely a treasure-trove for bits - including handbooks etc. We're all a friendly bunch and I'm sure someone would help with shipping if you needed a hand.

Cheers

Chris.

Call me stupid (I must be, the wife is always telling me so), but what the hell is a 'plip' ?

A plip is the radio key fob transmitter that controls your locking system. I only had one supplied with the car but three ignition keys.

I will check out ebay. Can anyone advise how to sign extra key fobs/plips onto the car cpu please? I no most have a sequence to put the car into paring mode.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I've never heard the chip referred to as a 'plip'.

I guess as a the owner of a radio manufacturing business in Totnes Devon UK, I get to use jargon that is alien to others.
