Goodbye Rapide S hello Vanquish S
Discussion
Hi All,
As you know from the thread where I asked for thoughts on the Vanquish S driving experience I have been looking at a Vanquish S in lightining silver. Today was handover and I am now the very happy owner of the car in the photos below.
The drive up to Grange AM in Birmingham in the Rapide S was as enjoyable as ever. Having been an owner of two V8 Vantages, a DB9.2 and two Rapide S models, the Rapide has up to now held a very special place in my heart as my fav AM to date. Not just because of the way it handled and how it sounded but also because I could truly enjoy family days out in it. It is a superb machine, an amazing driving experience and I will never really understand why it did not sell more.
For those looking for a very well looked after model in Skyfall Silver and all the options then Grange now have one
and I would recommend it for any one. My kids are now 16 and 19 and still fit easily and comfortably but of course they are off doing their own things now so it was time to move on so I started to look for the next step.
After a short time looking I found a Vanquish S which looked amazing and it was with Grange AM in Birmingham. The experience with the team at Grange and the main contact, Chris Little could not have been better from the very first contact I made via their website on a Sunday night through to handover.
After my initial outreach Chris came back to me within an hour and this set the tone for the sales experience. The responsiveness to my questions was fantastic and I never had to chase or even wait for the information I needed to make the purchase decision. Chris kept me informed as the process moved forward and did a great job talking about the benefits of the Vanquish S.
The process of pick up was just as great. Chris and the team had the paperwork ready to go and I was made to feel very welcome as a number people came to talk to me about the Vanquish and AM in general. The unveiling of the Vanquish was a moment I will never forget and the pictures do not do the design or the colour justice at all.
I then had an hour and half drive home and it was nothing short of outstanding. I am not eloquent enough to describe the immense enjoyment I got from this first drive. The Vanquish is, in my humble opinion, the ultimate driving experience. The combination of the power, the handling, the sound and the feeling of specialness is unbeatable and I had a big stupid grin on my face all the way home.
Thanks to Chris and the team at Grange AM for their excellent work. Thanks also to this forum for providing such great information and support, Here are a few photos taken when I got home. I can't promise not to post more.
Regards
Josh.

Extremely wonderful. Well done! What colour is that? It seems to have a very soft hint of blue. Gorgeous.
Thanks all,Will post some more photos in better light than last night. The colour is lightning silver, after two cars in Skyfall (Which I loved) I am blown away by how good it looks live! Thanks for the comments I work very hard like many people, don't smoke or drink and I think my AM car "Habit" is an acceptable vice.

We are all lucky to have the opportunity to drive these beautiful machines.

Josh
