For those a little click-shy:

Sorry to say, but it all looks a little unnecessary to me and dare I say it, a little 'Project Kahn' confused

I presume that this is a revisit (or update) by the designer of the original Vanquish.

Edit - Have now watched the video, so yes, it is what I thought.
Has Mr. Callum retired from Jaguar?

Another Youtube on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FY9HYPVo1fE

This to me seems like something he should do a Singer with, why limit it to 25, if people are willing to pay to have their Vanquish refreshed then let them, everyone wins.

Interesting. The previous deal to sell Vanquish.2 tooling fell through, so AML have decided to make some money from Vanquish.1...

The same people, Rreforged, as are running the remainder of V12 Vantage Zagato are involved...

Would be interesting to see under the bonnet...

I'm fairly certain it was Vanquish 1 that fell through?

I can't be arsed to read all the stuff or watch the vids as I dislike Vanquish 1 but is it all brand new or do you need a donor car?

So is this to be approved of, or dismissed with disdain?

Blue interior I’m sort of ok with ...just.

Blue interior with blue steering wheel is absolutely minging.

Ian Callum is my designer hero.

It is not generally known because Mr. Fisker grabbed the praise, but Ian Callum designed the majority of the 2005 to 2008 Vantage.
That project was then sidelined for some time, while the DB9 was prepared for production and IC moved to Jaguar before production of the Vantage began.

I like his latest project. Do you think it needs a more up to date steering wheel? The one fitted looks very 1990s (almost identical to Vauxhall Cavalier).

Not sure I could do that to mine. I like how it is now - including the tape player. smile

I am neutral on it but it is not for me. And neither was his re-imagined Mark 2 Jag

That's kind of my thinking. The Jag was OTT in my view. I think the exterior look of this Vanquish 25 is superb, but the the interior is equally Oof and Meh. I like the idea of a 'Singer-style' makeover, but for £550k, I'm not sure this does enough.

I know the Vanquish in 'standard' form has a loyal fanbase, but I always thought it looked a little heavy-handed, and this makeover is what it should have been like in the first place.

I suspect a large part of the asking price is the 'Because we can' tax, and the fact that it's arguably overpriced won't worry those who buy them.

You just give 'em £550k and they'll get you a donor car...

I like the idea, I'd spec the styling very different to their prototype but if I had the old one and the money I'd be tempted.

When I originally went Aston shopping it was the original Vanquish I wanted. Then I saw how much more modern the DB9 looked and so I went for that. The Vanquish was starting to look dated and too similar to the DB7 at first glance.
If the Vanquish had looked like the Callum Vanquish, then thats what I would have bought, I think it is now bang up to date and I presume you can choose interior colours so I see no need to slate the blue choice of this car.
At least it doesnt look like someone has stuck an i-pad on the dash.
It may be that is is only to be offered in auto, although it is so bespoke, I assume a manual version would be available.
I really like it, nearly as much as the later Vanquish but more than the DBSS and WAY more than the new Vantage.
