Road wheel removal

2009 Vantage.

The largest socket in my set is 19mm.
That socket is too small.

Please tell me which size I need for the wheel bolts/nuts.

21mm on my 2012 model

Could also be 22mm for some AM models. So, buy both if not sure.

IIRC, locking wheel nuts are 1mm larger than standard, so 21/22mm is correct

If you have carbon discs be careful not to drop the wheel on the edge of them as you remove it. Would be very expensive....

As I remember 05 & 06 Vantages had 21 mm lugs, 07 had 22mm. I do not know the exact date of the changeover, however my 07 Coupe has 22, it was built in February 2007.

21mm socket purchased, but I then found for the first time, that my trusty torque wrench was not man enough for this wheel fitting job. Borrowed a tougher one from a neighbour.

Rear wheel now successfully removed.
Had expected to find the inner wheel to be caked in difficult to remove brake dust, but no, gentle application of soapy water revealed sparkling silver paint.

I thought the original 20 spoke wheels would have been made by Rimstock, who I believe are wheel suppliers to Aston Martin.
Therefore surprised to find markings 'SPEEDLINE ITALY'.

Do any of you know whether Rimstock made the optional double 5 spoke Speed Pack wheels ?
No point in contacting them for a set, if they didn't even make them.
