TinyPic was a free image hosting website that went belly up a few weeks back due to lack of advertising support. They kindly informed me of this, however the upshot is that all the images I ever posted using their service are no longer in the threads, just an annoying thumb nail reminder of the vagueries of the internet.
I have since signed up to photobucket who have a bit more history and kindly take money from you which would tend to ensure some future longevity... As time allows I will try and replace the images to the best of my memory that have vanished in some of the threads.

Cheers folks!

We all love free deals... yum yum

Decades ago someone told us there was no such thing as a free lunch.

If you want something of value, you have to reciprocate with something of value....or a bargain is never formed.

Just delete your old photo and upload it again using the PH "Upload an image" free thumbsnap service.

The PH upload is quite a small photo, as a photographer I like to show off with a bigger image! wink

What is this, the business etiquette and tired cliche corner? Of course there`s free lunches, I`ve had plenty, and also provided them for others. Pistonheads is also a free platform, as is their photo upload...

Curses! That’s a pain in the wrong end. Sorry to hear that.

As for ‘free’ - it’s not. Talented photographers provide stunning photographs, advertisers pay (or in this case didn’t) to be associated with said stunning pics.

I enjoy your work, Mr T. Keep it up!.

No point as monitors are only 1920x1080, so the Pistonheads one is as hi res as you need. Never understood when photographers upload massive images when the end user monitors have limited resolution, all sorts of colour setups and lit in all sorts of rooms. Pointless vanity, unless you are printing.

Have you never made a picture full screen and zoomed-in to part of it?

Anyway, very sorry to hear about this Dean. Hope it hasn't affected your job too.

Very annoying, particularly as I came back from holiday and wanted to save one of those fantastic race pics as a screensaver, only to find they had disappeared. At least I now know what happened. (excellent work Mr Tremlini)

1920 x 1080, a decade or two ago maybe, or a new laptop from Aldi. My desktop is 2560 x 1440, laptop is 3000 x 2000, some are pushing 4000. The pistonheads image is 720x480 so on a monitor with a modern resolution they appear small. What I am uploading is 1600x1067, so hardly massive.
Up until now I have not had people complaining about image images size but if it`s a problem for the majority of you I can certainly downsize in the future.

Dean

Can I just say how generous an offer that is!

To freely give a product of your work ( which is your way of making a living) to another - respect!!!!

Cheers Graeme. smile
Yes, while it`s my work, the photos I take of my car and other peoples here and there is for my pleasure and not done in the pursuit of wealth, it`s an enjoyment I get from being a petrolhead and having a career I enjoy as much as when working as when not! The motor racing shots are taken for clients but one of the things they want is a proliferation of views which is accounted for in the job. I realise that something for nothing is not so common, a free lunch for example, but if people like my photos I am happy to share them, it`s one of the reasons why I am posting them at a reasonable size.

Hi

PLease keep posting your pics they are beautifully composed and provide inspiration to real amateurs like myself. Another of the great attributes your photos have is the fantastic resolution, which is noticeable. Your images take no longer for my browser to upload than any other, so please keep going as you always have.

Great work smile
