I have been reading a few posts on the subject, but wondered if I could get some confirmation / help. The O/S (drivers side) rear light on my V8 Vantage has let some water in and started malfunctioning intermittently. I have been quoted a price for a new one and am still in shock! I have seen numerous 2nd hand lights on EBay claiming to fit Vantage/DB9/DBS/Rapide etc. So...

1. Are the rear light units the same on a 2006 Vantage and a DB9?
2. Does anyone on the forum have a drivers side rear lamp unit for sale (perhaps replaced theirs with clear)?

Any help gratefully received!

Hi, I had the same issue with my offside rear light cluster and had to find a replacement. Looked at several on eBay and despite starting prices north of £300, I was not sure any were going to be much better than mine. From memory Aston dealers seemed to be about £750 plus VAT, however AM Cambridge had a batch of new lights that they were offering at £520 inc VAT. Not cheap but seemed the best option at the time so I swallowed hard and paid out. Surprisingly the first light I got was faulty with the brake light staying on all the time. AM Cambridge swapped for a different unit and all is good now. Might be worth giving them a call. Cheers G

Thanks, spookily I was going to give them a call in the morning! I have also been enquiring about £300 + secondhand units then came across the units being sold by AM Cambridge. Just wanted to check they were the correct units for my car. Do they post out, or did you collect?

From memory when I had to get some they were cheaper if you bought the pair. You probably will need the other one in time.

Thanks both, I will give them a shout this morning....
I do love my car, but oh so wish I could go a few months without a niggly issue! Emission warnings (o2 sensor), airbag warning, tyre pressure warning, boot struts giving up, window regulator, reverse light switch, now rear light.....I suppose it’s hand built, British and has character! 🙄😂. Lucky she looks beautiful, sounds amazing and feels special to drive!

These early Gaydon astons do have their niggles, but its never broken down on me at the roadside.

They are hand built so i dont get stressed everytime i get a niggle, I just look at getting it done at a reasonable cost.

I've noticed that some cars tend to be trouble free and some others have a huge amount of issues, doesnt seem to be a reason why?
