I had a 2017 DB11 and I still have my 2008 V8Vantage. It was a comfortable car on the highway and it was definitely fast. I found that the paint quality wasn’t as good as my Vantage. It was a heavy metallic but was blotchy. It has some how lost that special hand built quirkinesses and feeling that the previous cars had. I would say that the build quality was on a par with the Porsche 911 that I had. The leather didn’t smell as good as the previous cars. My Vantage still smells great and the leather still looks like new. The DB11 drew a crowd at Cars and Coffee with plenty of positive comments. I tried to like the styling of it. My wife thought it was beautiful me not so much. In the end I still have the Vantage but the DB11 is gone.
To be fair the Rolls Royce Ghost that I had also had blotchy paint. It has been replaced with a Bentley Flying Spur and it has beautiful paint.

I have had a MY2017 for 2 years now. No major issues with it. A few minor things but all covered under warranty and since it has 5 years free servicing the total cost to run it so far has been £0.
They are very comfortable cars to cruise around in and very quick. The torque is incredible and the ride quality a massive step forward.
I would drive one and an older style car too since very different. I love the looks of mine and it gets noticed and commented on a lot when out and about. The noise is not as good as my DB9 but better than most cars. I think of you want a car for regular use then it is far superior to the older cars but if just want to have fun for a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon try both - you may prefer the noise and feel of a DB9 or better still Vanquish.

I have a 2017 Launch edition, picked it up about 6 months ago. Had one previous owner and 7k on clock.
I have previously had 2 new Lambo’s, loads of Porsche 911s all from new.
My Last Lambo a Huracan was coming up to 4 years old and warranty was ending (you can’t extend a Lambo warranty) so I sadly sold it. Great car, painfully expensive on servicing and depreciation (I did 30k miles in it).
I wanted a change, never considered an Aston before, looked at a couple of DB11 V12s. Really loved them, Looked great value at 2 years old. No servicing cost. 600bhp. And a little More grown up than the Lambo’s.
I’ve done 4000miles, it’s beautifully made, Mercedes bits a little dated- but it seems to add to the charm of the car. Can be tricky to handle as car struggles if you use all 600bhp - back end a tad twitchy
It’s my daily drive and has not let me down, good fun but also very comfortable, depreciation should now be steady as first owner took a massive hammering
Surprised to get lots of great comments from people who think it looks beautiful. Not many on the road.
So I would def consider one, Ive enjoyed it so much that I might swap out next year in to a DBS
PS. I’m not in to owning past model cars like a DB9 so can’t comment on older Aston’s
