Bargain dealer-special N430
Discussion
Often browse on Autotrader to look how AM’s are doing price-wise and noticed this N430 just come up:
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...
From memory, it’s one of the 10 Stratstone Q dealer special edition N430’s. Not quite as special as Cambridge AM dealer specials IMHO. It’s VERY black apart from the red rear lights, which is a nice touch. But the highlight is the black quilted leather interior which is surely very rare.

I’m sure it’s a dumped P/X as it’s at a BMW dealer (Tamworth).
What strikes me the most is that it’s priced at £60k with less than 20k miles on the clock. So I’m sure a cheeky mid to high 50’s offer will shift it.
Only the third such I’ve seen come across. Sports shift ‘box.
I’m just posting out of interest. No connection to the car or dealer.

Yep - we're in "bargain" territory. Don't know how much further there is to go, but V12 Vantage S' are looking mighty tempting. Even some of the more special ones.
Whereabouts are you and how do prices compare?
But my better half keeps saying she likes the Volcano Red and I like the relative nimbleness and everyday usability of the V8. Oooooh.. dilemmas, dilemmas...

The problem with these "Stratstone" N430's is that all of them had the Carbon race seats removed. Granted, some people wont want them, but in that case I would point them towards a standards Vantage S. One of the main points of the N430 was the inclusion of the very expensive carbon seats. Without them, you are just paying the premium for a badge with no benefit.

Oh! I didn't realise the lightweight carbon seats were standard on any Vantage, even the N430.After reading in Gaydon "bible", I got the impression that the N430 was a way to offer an S as a reduced cost through lack of standard carbon splitter and diffuser and seats in Alcantara as standard (not leather).
To me, the N430 and Vantage S are identical cars, just slightly different default trim spec.

The N430 was a cheaper, lower-specced version of the V8 Vantage S. Its base price sat exactly in the middle of V8 Vantage and V8 Vantage S as far as I remember. I´ve read a few times now that the N430 came with lightweight seats as standard specification and I have my doubts about that. Given the lower price of the N430 I can hardly imagine that the lightweight seats were a no-cost option. Could someone share an original price list or at least look it up to verify/falsify?
The MY16 Vantage brochure is unclear insofar:

I would beg to differ. Carbon seats were standard. The reason why it was cheaper than the standard S was partly due to the fact the manual was standard fitment, but you needed 7k to option the sport shift (which they knew most customers would choose). The N430 was 20kg lighter than the vantage S via the seats and lightweight wheels (which again came standard).
Correct, Froomee, so I believe.
UK base prices as far as I remember:
16MY V8 Vantage Coupé Manual: ca. GBP 90,000.00
16MY Vantage N430 Coupé Manual: ca. GBP 95,000.00
16MY V8 Vantage S Coupé Manual: ca. GBP 100,000.00
Surely someone must have an original price list? I´d be very surprised if the lightweight seats were a non-cost option on any (regular) V8 Vantage model. Even in the AMR you had to pay (a lot) for them.
"Kerb weight Coupé" according to MY16 brochure: 1610 kg for both N430 and V8 Vantage S.
The reason for the weight saving of 20 kg against the official "kerb weight" of the V8 Vantage Coupé was - as far as I remember - that the V8 Vantage S originally came with the (seemingly) lighter Sportshift II transmission as standard in 2011. When later the manual transmission became standard on the V8 Vantage S as well, the figures remained simply unchanged (same with the topspeed).
Anyway, all of this is pure theory: "sport auto" weighed both the V8 Vantage Manual and the N430 Sportshift II (the latter even incl. lightweight seats and 10 spoke forged alloys!) at around 1632 kg and 1625 kg respectively. In practice there simply is/was no such thing as a standard specification. In the end all cars are/were individually specified either by the customer or the main dealer or the manufacturer itself.
