South West. Any decent specialists ?
Discussion
Hi all. Poking my head around the door after lots of years with TVR.
I used TVRSSW for looking after the tiv's and big Colin is happy to work on a DB9 but was just wondering if anyone in the SW, more specifically near Clevedon knows of a good specialist?
Happy for PM if we can't publically recommend.
Thanks in advance.
Mike

I've been incredibly happy with AM Bristol and in particular a member of staff there. And if there isnt a huge price difference then a very good proposition.
It's not just the price that puts some people off main dealers.MDs have the habit of "upselling" and adding a huge list of things that they say needs doing urgently. I used to take my previous Aston to a MD and every year they tried to get me to "rectify" things that I knew didn't need doing e.g "door handle had reached limit of adjustment".
Needless to say 7 years later when I sold the car these "required" items had not be changed but the car was performing faultlessly.

None of that at Bristol in my experience Tim. My OS side-strake repeater has given up. I said I'd do it when i get the front end respray in spring - a 5" conversation MDs have the habit of "upselling" and adding a huge list of things that they say needs doing urgently. This year I didn't use the MD I was previously praising here as comms were so poor (a friend did exactly the same) - was so used to having a chat with Nigel who knew me and my car over 7 years rather than some kid in a callcentre who could answer nothing and then being called back the once when I was in a meeting and emails/calling back failing. Have spoken to the decent service manager there since whom I've known many years stating I need better than that when its £850 for a basic oil change. I used McGurks who were OK but were a bit hesitant about looking into issues other than the core service (TPMS, exhaust switch etc). Appleby were too expensive for me although i'm sure their work is top notch.
It's just business and we all set our prices and I'll just say it as I find, sorry. Loved my previous excellent relationship with the MD though but it's them that let that go, not me.
