Just thought I'd flag this up as I'm currently reading the Brooklands road tests book and noticed it's up for sale on C&C...

Looking at the pics, it appears to be without an engine.

Not sure you'd ever call a DBS with an autobox an "extreamly quick sports car" but they are very nice as they are. My first ride in an Aston was a DBS auto. Very fond memories of that afternoon around kent and sussex.

I think you may be judging by today's standards - transport yourself back to 1969. A modern Focus 1.0 Ecoboost has 123bhp, does 0-60 mph in 10 secs and does about 58 mpg average; in 1969 a Ford Escort 1100 managed 40bhp, did the 0-60 "sprint" in 21 secs and returned 33 mpg.

For interest, the Escort kerb weight was 805kg, whereas the Focus is 1247kg, a 55% increase.

The advances are very impressive, particularly if you also consider the improvements in crash worthiness.

If you click through to the vendor site you’ll see that a couple of pics show the engine in situ, but I know what you mean about the stance. Maybe indicative of the need for a suspension refresh as part of the restoration.
