Having a problem with my 2008, 4.7 sports shift roadster, which i have owned since it was a month old. Over the past 2 years the issue has been very intermittent. When i put the key in. To start the engine , nothing would happen. If i take the key out and try again, then it starts. A dealer looked at the issue, but found nothing wrong.
In november the battery went flat, after being left for 2 weeks. Shortly after the car had a similar issue. This time when trying to start the car, nothing would happen, but you can hear an audible click. After putting the key in and out, eventually the car will start. A bit like a starter motor sticking. What’s your thoughts? Car battery, key slot, starter motor or key?
Is this something the dealer can diagnose, bearing in mind they said they had to see the issue, when it does not start. Thanks john

Have you had a new battery after it went flat? 2 weeks is not long, it should last more like 5-6 weeks without going flat. New battery has to be the first thing to eliminate.

I would recommend a new battery at circa £110 and easy to install yourself.
I have done it a couple of times in my Roadster over the years and then you can eliminate that as a possible cause.

I get mine from Costco (Bosch Silver)
