I have VA09AGE on my V8V

I thought I’d see how much VA08AGE was and it turns out it’s £280 all in https://www.regplates.com/search?search=Va08Age&am...

Thought about buying it myself and flipping it, but then again why not share it on here and let someone else get it cheap if they want it.

If someone does buy it, please don’t do it to flip, but to stick on your car.

Good luck !

How about 8 JCJ for your car Jonny?

If you have no need for a replacement clutch, then there might be unallocated cash.

The old registration marks don't seem to depreciate.
I bought one many years ago for £10. Am told five figures now, but not for sale.

Got OCJ 99 on my ML and quite like the VA09AGE reg that’s on my V8V.

Funnily enough re clutches, I was just re-reading Clive Chedzey’s clutch change thread. Tempted to give it a go on mine later in the year when the car gets laid up for the winter again and replace the current one with a twin plate.

Then again, I seem to be creating more and more jobs in my never ending quest for perfection....

£30 cheaper direct from DVLA @ £250.

Plates are always cheaper direct, all the other places as just a third party service that charge extra for their service.

A friend became sucked into this activity, probably by a car dealer.

When I saw his car, displaying a normal registration mark showing year 11, I said, "I thought you were getting a brand new car".

He then explained that it is a new car. The first two letters represented the names of himself and his wife. The final three letters being an abbreviation of his surname. No one else would know.

Has the world gone mad ?

Yes several. Like you if I remember correctly, my preference is for the old fashioned ones.

Not a problem, but just slightly odd that my friend paid several hundred pounds, to have a plate without any significance to anyone, and which made his new car look 8 years old. He does now say it was a mistake.

Yes, it has. These contorted plates are pathetic. A fool and his money ...

An old friend of mine was extremely averse to memorable private plates - he thought that it would enable the taxman to track him more easily.
