Hi

Any opinions on this vehicle, never had an aston before, but always admired the DBS and Vanquish...

Their website doesn't seem to provide much detail, or history about the car. Perhaps the adverts are automated now.

When looking, my attention was drawn towards the DBS, offered for almost the same money. Slightly older, but about a third fewer miles.

What a difficult choice! Prices have certainly moved down during the last year or so. A better time to be buying.

Drive them both and see whether you then have a preference.

The Vanquish is one of the best looki BBG cars on the road in my eyes. The DBS looks more muscular but also looks more obviously derived from a DB9.

If possible I would go for a 14 MY car with the 8 speed gearbox.

The price is driven up quite a lot with the 8 speed gearbox, this vanquish seems good value ...

Nice looking thing. It'll be a six (rather than 8 speed) at that age, not a dealbreaker but won't be quite as relaxed at cruise and slower than the later versions.

What would put me off is that according to JCT's own site (https://www.jct600.co.uk/used-cars/aston-martin-vanquish-v12-22-2dr-touchtronic-auto-coupe-black-automatic-petrol/id-1212530323/) it has 5 previous owners. It is a good £10k cheaper than the next cheapest approved though.

Yes., and it is a 6 speed, and it has been in their stock for a while. They have a few Vanq2 cars that have been in stock since last year so I expect they would be keen to do a deal on it.

Ridiculous though that 36k miles in 6 years is deemed high mileage.

Your Lordship and OP

I agree with your comment as I purchased a 3-year-old Vanquish with only 8,000 miles and this required 4 new shock absorbers as the seals were leaking due to lack of use, rectified under AM Timeless Warranty (another story).

The car will have an AM Timeless Warranty but if the OP does go ahead I would still recommend an independent inspection before or soon after purchase, i.e. within 30 days.
