Yesterday as I was driving my 2007 Vantage V8 home, the transmission started malfunctioning and while the shifter was in gear, the transmission kept shifting into neutral. Before this happened I took my foot off the accelerator the car sped up on it's own. Anybody have a clue what is happening?

Sounds like the clutch was slipping, when you accelerate the clutch will slip as it cannot cope with the power, when you take your foot off the accelerator and reduce the power the clutch is then able to cope at the same time the speed of the clutch and flywheel equalise allowing the clutch to regain some grip, if this only happens once there could be a problem with the release bearing not clearing.
How many miles have you done on that clutch?

I've driven 28,260 miles since the original clutch was replaced

Would be surprised if the clutch had gone in that sort of mileage even in a Sportshift, has it continued to do it?

My mechanic solved the issue over the phone! He told me to get into the Aston, engage first gear and note the distance from neutral to first..then move the snifter into second gear and note the distance the stick was from neutral. If should had been equal to the distance from neutral to first....it wasn't. He then told me to slam second gear hard..then check to see if the distances were now equal....and they were. I then started the car and drove it aggressively shifting the gears...SUCCESS. The problem was a loose clamp which he will tighten this week,
