Just wanted to canvas preferences for tyres for the V12VM. Close to sorting out a deal and have some options on tyres. I'm not keen on the Pirelli Zero Corsa, so the choice lies between Pirelli Zero, Michelin Pilot Supersport and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. I think Michelin is probably the better tyre but what's the difference between the Supersport and the Sport 4S? What would you recommend?

I have 4S on mine and my 2p worth, when the Corsas are hot in my opinion they are unbeatable, absolutely ballistic, I found this on a trip through the Pyrenees but rarely on UK roads, the 4S are a better tyre in every other situation and lose out only very marginally at 10/10ths, they have more tread so last longer and I think probably still cheaper so win win win. I've also used them year round and the Corsas in the cold scared me...

I 'believe' the PSS are an older design, had them on a previous car, they were good but if the 4S is an updated tyre I wouldn't bother with the PSS. They may have been updated in the meantime though?!

Having done more than 30k miles in V12V & V12VS, including plenty of alpine tours & trackdays, on mostly Corsas, I'd concur with all that

Rather like the car in general, on song in perfect conditions the Corsas are superb but away from optimum conditions, again like the car in general, they are difficult. For me, the non corsa zeros I'm currently running (they came with the car) are an even worse compromise - nowhere near as good as corsas in the best conditions, get too hot quickly and aren't that good in the cold or wet. I'm about to change to 4S

You are quite right about the pirellis being an older design. The Aston designation pirellis are the same compound/design as when first launched, so any improvements along the way for the non-aston version isn't reflected in the aston version. I wonder if you can get a suitable size/spec corsa in a non aston designation that offers an improvement ?

If you do want a tyre just to use on track days or days you can be sure will be completely dry & reasonably warm, I ran trofeo Rs at Spa once that were simply incredible on my V12V. Unfortunately not so good on the road in the wet.......

Yes, PS4Ss. At the same time I also got my wheel alignment done. My car is transformed.
