My company are looking at hiring a DB11 Volante for a marketing campaign for one of our clients who then want it placing on a stand we're building for them at shopping centres around the country.

One of the stipulations from the shopping centres is that the car battery is removed and the fuel purged from the vehicle when inside. I've done a bit of digging around but there doesn't seem to be much info online of the location of the battery. Can anyone shed any light on this and how it would be removed? Appreciate the fuel purging is a tricky one but any info on how to do this on the DB11 would be much appreciated!

Cheers

If you're going to hire one, I'd simply stipulate to the company you're hiring from that it's to be delivered to you without fuel or battery and let them sort it.

Could present you with some issues moving it around to put in position etc, as I suspect you'll need power for the steering etc

An empty fuel tank is just as dangerous as a full one in a fire situation, you could explore simply running the car out of fuel and then having the tank filled with an inert gas to make it safe, then it could easily be de-gassed and refuelled afterwards.

Not sure where the battery is on the DB11 but I'm sure someone will answer that one.

Thanks guys and I agree with both points although it's one of the ridiculous stipulations that shopping centres have for putting vehicles inside them. The truth is that we'd probably get away without emptying the tank but they'll definitely want the battery removing. We'd probably put it in place over night and then remove the battery but I can seem to find anything anywhere outlining when it's located. I've even downloaded a copy of the owners manual but it doesn't say!

The battery is under one of the back seats, you can remove the seat cushion to get to it easily enough
