Hi all,
Taking the Vantage on its 2nd road trip with a couple of mates in spetember this year. Last years was centered around Back forest, Grimsel/Furka and Route Napoleon and was shaped around tips from some of PH trip speacialists - thanks for that!.

2020 trip is currently shaping up as follows:
https://mydrive.tomtom.com/gor-webapp/share/itiner...

Big ticket items we aim to cover:

1. Rhine Route
2. Part German Alpine Road (partly)
3. Rossfeld Panorama Strasse
4. Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse
5. Great Dolomites Road
6. Stelvio
7. San Bernardino Pass
8. Nufenen pass
9. Furka & Grimsel pass
10. Black Forest

Already had comments about the Stelvio but appreciate your thoughts in particular on other parts along the route of of 1 though 8 - what not to miss/avoid etc. along the route.
Your input appreciated as always!
best
JB

we have done 4 roadtrips and the biggest 'problem' is finding the balance between relaxing and driving. I assume you have sorted your accomodation? We loved Grossglochne, the summit is quite spectacular. The whole region esp Kaprun is spectacular with wonderful walks if you get time. The Dolomites are great, our favourite is Arabba (Sport Hotel) and that region. For Stelvio, enjoy a stay or drinks at the Hotel Madatsch in Trafoi then drive the pass (esp in the early hours before it gets busy and you can stop and take pictures). The 3 peak walk from Stelvio summit across the WW1 battlements and down the chairlift to Trafoi is worth a go.
If you are doing the Grimsel Pass, try and take in Grindelwald (lots to do and Hotel Kirchbuhl for stay or drinks) and esp Lauterbrunnen where you have the Trummelbach Falls and Schilthorn 007 experience, truly spectacular if expensive.

Enjoy....

I was supposed to be on a similar route in june but hotels have been cancelling. They have said either they have no idea when they will be open or are writing off the year and opening for ski season 2021. And these were 4/5 star places, i think you are on the optimistic side thinking it will all be ok by then. I hope you are right!

Thanks for the input gents. Made some provisional Booking.com reservations and keeping a close eye on it- so far no cancellations. Summer starts to see some relaxations - if that works out well hopefully for september time..
Fingers crossed...

Be aware that some passes in Northern Italy are closed between June and September due to bicycle events. As I know the Stelvio will be closed on 29.8.2020.
