Your praise about my AM knowledge is appreciated, but misguided. I must admit to you that my subject range is quite narrow and mostly obtained by remembering comments made by others on this forum, over quite a few years.

Sorry about the technical issue. Car electronics are a complete mystery to me. The only Sportshift car I have driven briefly, was a V12VS on high speed runs, so also know very little about the automated manuals.

AM Works of course have a long standing good reputation, and an expert for Gaydon cars is Mike at Bamford Rose.
AP has personally helped a few people from here, but maybe he has a lot 'on his plate' now.

I have not heard about the recall you mention, but do remember one about wiring under heated seats and another about throttle pedal components breaking. Only on particular cars.

Can understand your anxiety about not knowing the reason and hope as the miles build, your confidence will return. Perhaps avoid the 'smart' motorways for a while.
