DB9 REAR LIGHT POD
Discussion
Hello
I hope someone can help me here.
I have an issue with the rear off side light on my 06 DB9 (common from reading around)
Unusually it is only the break light and half the rear light not working, as it appears to me anyway.
Does the whole unit need replacing at considerable expense or is it possible for an automotive electrical specialist to have a look first? i know they appear to be sealed units but in my case i wonder if the problem is further back so to speak?
Any comments gratefully received and apologies if treading over old ground.
Regards
Richard

There are some articles on this. This one helped me.
The PCB inside the light or individual LEDS on the rows can be the issue but it is doable.
Heat gun with variable heat control for very little money is your best friend. There is a knack to how much temp just to make the resin tape inside supple and the light prise into the 2 halves. I needed more heat than I thought initially and it comes apart fairly easily with that set correctly.
Good luck.
