Yup, sold mine with less than 500 miles on it ( at a huge loss) after fruitless complaints to supplying dealer left me with a car that I would not drive. Great shame as apart from the fault that was agreed by the dealer (but not actioned) it was potentially a great drive. My fourth new Aston and my last.

Did you not think to contact Customer Service in Gaydon? The problem with my car was that the brakes were ludicrously over-servoed making it impossible to drive the car smoothly, particularly in traffic. I pointed out to the Sales Director of the supplying dealer that the recently announced Volante version had been fitted with a recalibrated servo suggesting that there was a known problem with earlier Coupe cars. I drove their demonstrator and that exhibited the same characteristic but to a much lesser extent.
I was advised that another customer had complained about the same issue and the dealer had been asked to examine the car and rectify the fault with a representative of Gaydon in attendance. Whatever was done to that car, I was promised, would be done to mine. The SD tried to contact Customer Services at Gaydon but could not get a reply. I was promised that someone from Gaydon would contact me promptly at home. No phone call was ever recieved and two follow-up emails to the SD of the supplying dealer were ignored. I later learned that the SD had left the company. In a later conversation with a new recruit to the sales team, I was promised that I would hear from Gaydon. That never happened either.
As I finally suggested, Customer and Service were two words that should not be used in the same phrase, when it comes to Aston Martin.

Overall and on the 4 Astons I have had and the 4 Porsches I have had, I would say the Aston customer service experience wins hands down - but again, this is as much to do with the dealerships and staff there as the brand itself.
Perhaps if you ask - has anyone bought a DBS and been very happy, you might find even more replies forthcoming.

To the OP
Terrible service from the dealer. No-name and shame rules on here, but they are a shambles and a disgrace if this happened as you say.
In the past I've taken a Gaydon post-sales engineer around for a drive to allow him to see a fault. That was simple for the dealer to organise.
At a later date I sent Andy Palmer a tweet about an issue and within a few hours one of his team emailed me, having figured out the VIN for my car. A couple of emails later and my car was booked into Works Service for remediation.
Best wishes for whatever you drive next

Thank you for your good wishes. I replaced the DBS with a new Bentley Continental GT which is a great car but proved to be a tad large for me. Today I have a Caterham 420R and a 992 Carrera Coupe 4S. The best of both worlds and the Porsche is a paragon of reliability as were my previous 911s.
