You reckon you guys in the UK get it tough.

I just bought 2 air filters for the db9 and paid $317.55 its an insult to your intelligence..

I wanted them quickly as the local indy could fit me in for a service so did not want the week to 2 weeks wait from either USA or UK.

why do the dealers rip us off?. ... cause they can I suppose.

I guess the business model has determined what the market will tolerate whilst also considering manufacturing costs, distribution, storage, customer facing staff, warranty and overhead costs?

I like your positive spin however its just a bit of orange moulded rubber and a paper filament. there is probably a close match somewhere in the motoring world that cost $25. Its not made of hand loomed 18th century Japanese silk.

Unfortunately, you were prepared to accept being stung for that cost because you were not prepared to wait for delivery. Many things are expensive if you simply must have it NOW.

Thanks for all the info guys its great

. Luckily the new Indy I found worked out to be great. He charged $300 (150 quid) to bleed my brakes, replace the air cleaners, repair a tyre (screw imbedded) and do a general check over and a reset of service interval.
I was chuffed with the cost.
I supplied the filters he supplied the brake fluid, also when I picked up the car the air con wasnt messed with, the radio was on the same station, the rear view mirrors were not messed with and it drove better than before ie the brake peddle feel was great,

I will plan my next service a bit better and take advantage of all your recommendations.

Happy to assist with your exchange of $$$ its aussie dollars. I find it hard to reason in times like this when we are almost free of covid 19 that the aussie dollar isnt performing better,

Yeah, but, slightly off topic, but ScoMo has annoyed the Chinese with his "state actor" piece, beef and barley exports are being hit. And everyone in Melbourne is going crazy for toilet paper again...

Reminds me of a famous sales expression:-

"Theres three ways to sell your product. You can have it fast, you can have it cheap, or you can have quality. Pick two of them"

What a coincidence.
Australia; Air Filters; shareholding GUD Holdings.
They may not do AM filters though, market might be too small for them.

Yes, Australia has controlled COVID 19 very well.
In UK, we wonder how our own dreadful situation has occurred:-

UK - Population 68 million - Deaths, 43,414.
( 640 deaths per million - second worst major nation in the world, after Belgium. )
Vietnam - Population 97 million - Deaths, None.
