Reading that the Sat Nav is dated and not great, wondering if anyone has upgraded (parking or infotainment)? Any information greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Spyder

Aston Installations do an Apple CarPlay kit for it which can also do front/rear cameras. I have been interested in doing it, but haven't found the right time to take the car up to their site.

The videos look very good - the resolution of the Aston screen seems to support the required res for CarPlay, even with the earlier Volvo based cars.

Would be good to get the views of anyone who's had it installed.

Better add that I'm talking about a 2008 Vantage with the Volvo system. Picking the car up next month if I can get in and out of UK without too much trouble.

Thanks in advance

I have a 2006 Vantage with the original nasty Volvo sat nav. Aston Installations installed carplay for me a couple of years ago. Really good and the screen resolution is excellent. I use Waze and it works perfectly.

Obviously it's not touch screen but the controller is perfect and you can wiz round all the applications very quickly when you get the hang of it.

+1 for Aston Installations

They do a great car play upgrade:

Also, last I heard they are working on a prototype to replace the actual screen with a newer high-resolution alternative.

I think on my current Vantage of 4 1/2 years Ive opened the sat nav screen once or twice when I got it and never touched it since.

I have my phone mounted in car and have always used the nav on that when necessary. Its just more convenient.

What holder do you use? I have one for the cd mount bit I keep hitting it as I change into 5th gear.

A previous owner had fitted front/rear camera to come through the volvo nav on my V12V but to be honest by the time the screen has opened I'm done parking!

Its a really simple vent holder for my S8 phone. We have the same in all our cars and works fine for all phones we have between us. I cant seem to find the same brand on Amazon anymore, we bought them all over 5 years ago. If I find it will post details. I have the RH centre vent switched off in my car and the phone there.
